Improving The Economy

It’s personal for me. But it’s also personal for nearly every American, and millions of people around the world. We all know someone who has had cancer, or is fighting to beat it. They’re our family, friends, and co-workers.

THE INITIATIVE TO TAKE ON CANCER

Under Vice President Biden’s leadership, the White House Cancer Moonshot Task Force catalyzed novel, innovative and impactful collaborations among twenty government agencies, departments and White House offices and over seventy private sector collaborations designed to achieve a decades’ worth of progress in five years in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. He helped lead the effort to pass the 21st Century Cures Act that provides $1.8 billion over seven years for the Cancer Moonshot’s scientific priorities.

Through the initiative, Vice President Biden will continue his work to inject a sense of urgency into our cancer research enterprise and to reimagine how the government, academia, non-profits and the private sector can better organize their resources and systems to collaborate to take on cancer.
